The Sextant, and variations of it ,and the
compass have been used for navigation for hundreds of years and are as
much a part of the navigator's equipment aboard ship as a map or chart
when used for locating positions at sea, taking sights and plotting
courses.
These fine reproductions of antique sextants
and compasses have been crafted by Stanley London, USA, using solid
brass and German silver and are highly polished to a beautiful finish.
We offer these items with fine handcrafted storage and display boxes.
Many are dated, from an Octant used in 1830 to a British Captain's
sextant used in 1920, and all of the items would make fine gifts for
collectors or nautical enthusiasts, or used as decorative accessories
when matched with any of the original antique maps and charts listed
under Grace Gallerie's collections, on the adjoining pages.
(Please note: While the sextants and
compasses are fully functional they are not intended for use at sea.)
