Antique Regional Maps from French
Cheese Producing Departments,
for Cheese Lovers Everywhere.

by Grace Galleries of Harpswell, Maine

The following maps are all original steel engravings drawn under the supervision of Victor Levasseur, in Paris in 1854. Levassur was a prominent French cartographer working in Paris in the mid-18th century. The maps shown here represent the cheese producing regions in France, where some of the most famous cheeses were and still are produced. The cheeses for each region are noted next to the Department listings. Larger images of the maps can be viewed by clicking on the thumbnail pictures depicted against each one. With the purchase of each map, we will provide a listing of the cheeses to accompany it, and as the maps are all one-of-a-kind items, we only have one example of each, so it's first come first served! With their finely engraved borders showing the produce & commerce of each region, they look stunning framed and hung on the walls of dining areas, kitchens, restaurants and wherever gourmet diners get together to savour fine food and enjoy good company!  Bon Appétit!

Note: Maps are hand colored and measurements are given in inches - height first. Margins are extra.

Photos shown on listings are thumbnail versions.
