Cercles en 1789" Paris. 1834. Colored 9X12. Detailed map shows
Kingdoms, Provinces, Divisions throughout Germany, Prussia and Poland.
Includes the Baltic Sea to the Gulf of Danzig and the North Sea coast of
the Netherlands showing the coast of Germany and Denmark. Locates all
principal towns and cities, rivers and coastal harbors. Title is in
attractive calligraphy. |

(Frankfurt Am Mayn)" London. 1837. 12X15. Partial color. Very
detailed map of the City shows the Mayn River and bridge; block plan of
streets with parks, public buildings, churches and cathedral. Rossmarket
& Weckmarkt. Shows the outer perimeter of the City and the extent of
the City in the ninth century. At base of the map is a finely engraved
view of the City and its buildings along the river with boats and barges
tied up along the wharves. Very attractive and finely engraved
map. |

Cercles avec les Etats De Boheme" Paris. 1793. Colored. 7½X10.
Clearly delineated map of the German Duchys and States including Bohemia
(Czechoslovakia) Austria, part of Switzerland, Prussia, western Poland
and western Hungary. Locates all major cities, market towns &
villages and includes a reference table down right side listing the
Duchys and States and their capital cities. Title is a decorative
cartouche with leaf, flower and scroll motifs. A very nice map. |

Colored. 10X9. Very decorative map of Germany surrounded by engraved
drawings in watercolor of a castle and harbor scene with paddle wheel
steamer and sailing vessel; and colorful figures of men and women
dressed in ancient military and contemporary costumes, standing, sitting
or on horseback against a landscape of trees and castles. The map is
finely drawn and shows primary cities, towns and villages with Duchys
and States outlined in color. |

Prussia with Berlin as its capital city. Includes Westphalia, Cleves,
Lower Rhine, Saxony, Anhalt, Brandenburg, Posen, Pomerania, West Prussia
and East Prussia, all in different colors; and includes Breslau in
Poland. Locates many rivers, cities, market towns & villages and
shows the Baltic Sea and the North Sea and depicts coastal harbors,
gulfs, bays and offshore islands. |

8X9. Colorful map shows Duchys and States in different colors called
Circles and locates all principal cities, market towns & villages.
Includes Vienna in Austria. Prague in Bohemia. (Czechoslovakia). Part of
Poland and Prussia and shows the North and Baltic Seas and the River
Elbe and the port of Hamburg. An attractive map, finely engraved. |

- P. LAPIE “Allemagne en 1812” Paris. 1812. Colored. 8½X11½.
This finely engraved map covers a large area of western Europe which the
French 19th century cartographers called Allemagen (Germany). The map
actually covers Germany, Prussia, Poland, Austria, Hungary, Rumania,
Czechoslovakia, Bohemia and the Baltic coast from Holland to Denmark and
the Gulf of Danzig (Poland). The map is dotted
with place names and the borders of countries are clearly defined.
Included is a decorative scene above the title in top right depicting a
castle surrounded by trees and rocks. The map was prepared by Pierre
Lapie (1777-1850) a well-known French cartographer and surveyor and
published by Conrad Malte Brun (1775-1826) in “Atlas Complet Du Precis
de la Geographie Universelle” in 1812. |

- LAPIE “Allemagne par Cercles en 1789” Paris. 1812.
Colored. 8¾X12. This attractive map covers the same area as GER111
above, only it shows Germany and surrounding countries as they appeared
in 1789. Borders of countries differ from the later 1812 map and there
is less overall detail on the 1789 edition though place names remain the
same with the exception of the names of countries which changed in the
intervening 23 years. The map includes an attractive scene in top right
with the title on a scroll over books by famous authors Kant, Goethe,
Lessing Breslow and others. The map was prepared by Pierre Lapie
(1777-1850) a well-known French cartographer and surveyor and published
by Conrad Malte Brun (1775-1826) in “Atlas Complet Du Precis de la
Geographie Universelle” in 1812. |

- P. LAPIE “Confederation Du Rhin” Paris.
1812. Colored. 11½X8½. In the early 19th century there were 22
Principalities comprising a large portion of Germany and Austria that
together formed the Confederation Du Rhin. They covered an area from the
Baltic seacoast in the north, down to Northern Italy in the south. This
excellent and intensely detailed map shows all major cities, towns and
villages, rivers, lakes and mountains and includes a list in top left of
the Principalities in the Confederation. Published by Conrad Malte Brun
(1775-1826) in Atlas Complet Du Precis de la Geographe Universelle, the
map was prepared by Pierre Lapie (1777-1850) a well known French
cartographer and surveyor. |
