IRELAND110 - S. LEWIS "Kildare" London. 1846. 9½X7½. Finely engraved map shows Kildare, Kilnock, Maynooth, Celbridge, Clane, Blessington, Ballymore Eustace, Newbridge, Kilcullen Bridge, Ballytore, Baltinglass, Castledermot, Athy and many smaller market towns & villages. Locates turnpike roads connecting towns and the main roads to Dublin. Shows many rivers & elevations & includes a decorative compass rose in top left.

IRELAND112 - A. ADLARD "Cavan, Westmeath & Meath" London. 1850. Colored. 5½X8. Finely engraved map shows major market towns of Cavan, Trim, Mullingar, Virginia, Navan Athboy, Drogheda & the harbor of Ballbriggan on the Dublin border. Locates many small villages, lakes, canals & postroads connecting towns. Very good detail.

Attractive map shows Londonderry and all principal market towns and villages. Carrickfergus Bay, Donegal Bay, Sligo Bay, Lough Swilly, Lough Foyle, Lough Neagh. Shows post roads, rivers and hilly areas. Title is in a decorative cartouche with leaf, flower and scroll motifs.

IRELAND122 - BALDWIN & CRADOCK Dublin. London. 1836. Colored. 12X16. Finely drawn map of the City and its environs shows the River Liffey flowing through it's center & the Grand Canal leading to the docks & the River Dodder on its eastern boundary. Map shows detailed street plans, locating principal buildings which are also drawn in outline at the base of the map. Includes Parks & Squares & Stephens Green, all colored green on the map. Depicts Trinity College & the Provost's house. This is a particularly fine map in very good condition. Engraved by E. Turrell.

IRELAND124 - H. CHATELAIN Nouvelle Carte De L'Irlande... Amsterdam. c. 1719. Colored. 13½X18. Fine early map shows the 4 Provinces of Ireland very clearly delineated. The map was drawn to show both the ecclesiastical & political centers especially the cathedral cities & towns, and the political centers represented in the Parliament. Includes an inset in top left showing the ancient ecclesiastical cities and an inset in top right showing the present (18th century) cities. This very fine map of Ireland was engraved and published in Amsterdam in Chatelain's Atlas Historique an encyclopedia in 7 volumes.

IRELAND138 - C. MALTE-BRUN Irelande. Paris. 1837. Colored. 12X8½. Fine map shows Ireland with its four Provinces clearly delineated and with good detail of cities, towns & harbors. Depicts Dublin on the east coast with Wicklow and Wexford harbors and Dundalk Bay. Shows Londonderry & Antrim in Ulster, Galway and Galway Bay on the west coast in Connaught, and Waterford and Cork in Munster. Includes St. George's Channel & the title in top left is drawn with fine calligraphy in an attractive design. From Atlas Completde Précis De La Geographie Universelle.

IRELAND144 - C. S. HAMMOND “Ireland” N.Y. 1936. Printed color. 15X10½. Finely detailed map of Ireland depicts the Provinces of Ulster, Leinster, Munster and Connaught and all major cities, towns and harbors. Locates Dublin harbor on the east coast and Galway on the west coast, and indicates steamship lines and ferry routes from east coast and northern ports to English and Scottish harbors and notes that shipping from Queenstown to New York is 2,728 miles. Also locates submarine telegraph lines, lighthouses and llightships. An inset chart in lower right shows an enlargement of Dublin & Vicinity. Excellent map from C. S. Hammond's “New World Atlas.”

IRELAND145 - J. N. BELLIN “Carte De L'Irelande” Paris. 1764. Colored. 9X6½. Very attractive map of Ireland depicts the 4 Provinces of Ulster, Leinter, Connaught & Munster & shows the harbor of Dublin on the east coast with Antrim, Londonderry & Belfast in Northern Ireland. Depicts Galway Bay on the west coast with Limerick, Waterford & Cork in the south. Includes 2 small sections of the coast of Scotland & the coast of Wales & the St. George's Channel dividing Ireland from Great Britain. In lower right the map has a very decorative title cartouche ornamented with leaf, flower & scroll motifs. Engraved under the direction of Jacques Nicolas Bellin (1703-1772) the Royal Hydrographer to the King in Paris, the map was included in Bellin's “Petit Atlas Maritime” in 1764.

Handsome map of Ireland shows the 4 Provinces of Ulster, Leinster, Munster & Connaught along with hundreds of names of cities, towns, villages & harbors. Depicts Belfast, Antrim & Londonderry in Northern Ireland, & Dublin, Milford Haven, Waterford & Cork on the east & southeast coast with Galway Bay & Connaught on the west coast. Locates the St. George's Channel off Ireland's east coast dividing Ireland from Great Britain. Engraved under the direction of Rigobert Bonne (1727-1795) the Director of the Depot de la Marine in Paris, the map was published in “Atlas Encylopidique” in Paris in 1787 with the cooperation of Nicolas Demarest.

IRELAND147 - J. CARY “A Map of Ireland Divided into Provinces & Counties from the Best Authorities.” London. 1793. Colored. 20X16¼. Finely engraved & detailed map shows Ireland's 4 Provinces of Leinster, Ulster, Connaught & Munster, along with counties, cities, towns & harbors. Depicts Dublin Harbor on the east coast, Belfast on Carrickfergus Bay in the northeast, Galway Bay on the west coast & Cork & Kinsale Harbors in the south. Locates bays, inlets & rivers around the coastal regions, with lakes, hills, mountains & roads leading to & from major centers, inland. The map was engraved by John Cary (1754-1835) one of England's most able & prolific 18th century engravers & publishers and issued in “Cary's New & Correct English Atlas” in 1793. A fine map.

IRELAND149 - H. S. TANNER “Ireland.” Phila. 1836. Colored. 11X9. Very detailed early 19th century map of Ireland shows the 4 Provinces of Munster, Connaught, Leinster & Ulster plus counties & hundreds of cities, towns & harbors. Locates all the major bays around the coast including Dublin Bay, Carlingford & Dundalk Bays on the east coast, Clew, Galway & Donegal Bays on the west coast with Dingle & Bantry Bays in the south. Locates rivers, mountains, roads, railroads & canals throughout. This finely engraved map was published in 1836 by Henry Schenck Tanner (1786-1853) in “A New Universal Atlas Containing Maps of the Empires, Kingdoms, States & Republics of the World.” Very nice condition.

IRELAND150 - G. MERCATOR “Irlandia Regnum.” Amsterdam 1606-19. Colored. 13X16½. This very detailed & colorful early map is dotted with cities, towns & harbors around the coast. Names are both in Latin & Olde English. Dublin Harbor on the east coast is spelled Dublyn Haven, Galway Bay is drawn on the west coast along with Dyngle Bay, Caryk Ness & in the south is Balatymor Bay, Waterford & Wexford Havens. Ireland is divided into counties, but not Provinces as yet, & the map is drawn with west at the top in the manner of early cartographic styles, so that Ireland lies horizontal on the sheet instead of vertical. The title in top right is on a decorative floating ribbon banner, & on the back is a double page Latin text titled “Hibernia Regnum.” This beautiful map is decorated with elegant calligraphy. From Gerard Mercator's “Atlas Sive Cosmographicae Meditationes De Fabrica Mundi.” Published by Jodicus Hondius, in Amsterdam in 1606-1619.

IRELAND151 - J. N. BELLIN “Port Et Ville De Kingsaill En Irelande.” Paris. 1764. Colored. 8½X6½. In the 18th century Kinsale Town & Harbor, which lies below Cork on Ireland's southern coast was a shipping & trading port for Ireland's merchandise & produce which was shipped to ports around the world. It lies on the River Bandon & the chart shows public buildings & wharves, the fortified castle at the harbor entrance & includes many depth soundings in the river, along with a sailing course for entering the harbor. A decorative title cartouche is drawn in lower right ornamented with scrolls, leaves & flowers. The chart was drawn under the direction of Jacques Nicolas Bellin (1702-1773) the Royal Hydrographer to the King & Director of the Depot De La Marine in Paris. Attractive & finely engraved.
