9½X7½. Finely engraved map shows Kildare, Kilnock, Maynooth, Celbridge,
Clane, Blessington, Ballymore Eustace, Newbridge, Kilcullen Bridge,
Ballytore, Baltinglass, Castledermot, Athy and many smaller market towns
& villages. Locates turnpike roads connecting towns and the main
roads to Dublin. Shows many rivers & elevations & includes a
decorative compass rose in top left. |

the four into which Ireland is Divided by Geographers" London.
1766. Colored. 6X9. Attractive map shows Londonderry and all principal
market towns and villages. Carrickfergus Bay, Donegal Bay, Sligo Bay,
Lough Swilly, Lough Foyle, Lough Neagh. Shows post roads, rivers and
hilly areas. Title is in a decorative cartouche with leaf, flower and
scroll motifs. |

London. 1836. Colored. 12X16. Finely drawn map of the City and its
environs shows the River Liffey flowing through it's center & the Grand
Canal leading to the docks & the River Dodder on its eastern boundary.
Map shows detailed street plans, locating principal buildings which are
also drawn in outline at the base of the map. Includes Parks & Squares &
Stephens Green, all colored green on the map. Depicts Trinity College &
the Provost's house. This is a particularly fine map in very good
condition. Engraved by E. Turrell. |

Amsterdam. c. 1719. Colored. 13½X18. Fine early map shows the 4 Provinces
of Ireland very clearly delineated. The map was drawn to show both the
ecclesiastical & political centers especially the cathedral cities &
towns, and the political centers represented in the Parliament. Includes
an inset in top left showing the ancient ecclesiastical cities and an
inset in top right showing the ‘present’
(18th century) cities. This very fine map of Ireland was engraved and
published in Amsterdam in Chatelain's “Atlas
Historique” an encyclopedia in 7 volumes. |

MALLET “Royaume D'Irlande”
Paris 1684. Colored. 6½X4½. Small copper engraved map of Ireland from
Mallet's “Description de l'Univers,”
published in Paris in 1653-88, shows the four provinces and counties and
primary towns. Depicts many lakes & rivers and while coastal contours
are somewhat speculative & loosely drawn the map is attractive in a 17th
century style. Alain Manesson Mallet (1630-1706) was an engineer who
served Louid XIV of France and published ‘Description
de l'Univers’ in five volumes with maps, plans
& views of the world as it was known at the time. (Note: the engraving
plate was not lined up squarely on the paper, but it does not detract
from the overall appeal of the map.) |

12X8½. Fine map shows Ireland with its four Provinces clearly delineated
and with good detail of cities, towns & harbors. Depicts Dublin on the
east coast with Wicklow and Wexford harbors and Dundalk Bay. Shows
Londonderry & Antrim in Ulster, Galway and Galway Bay on the west coast
in Connaught, and Waterford and Cork in Munster. Includes St.
George's Channel & the title in top left is drawn with fine
calligraphy in an attractive design. From Atlas Completde Précis De La
Geographie Universelle. |

12X9. Finely drawn map of Ireland shows the Provinces of Ulster, Leinster, Connaught, and Munster & the counties & principal cities,
towns, villages & harbors. The detail on the map is excellent & clearly
delineated & the harbors around the coast are located where many rivers
flow to the sea. This is a fine map for genealogical research from
“Atlas Complet Du Precis De La Geographie Universelle, de M. Malte Brun.”
Published in Paris in 1812. |

detailed map of Ireland depicts the Provinces of Ulster, Leinster,
Munster and Connaught and all major cities, towns and harbors. Locates
Dublin harbor on the east coast and Galway on the west coast, and
indicates steamship lines and ferry routes from east coast and northern
ports to English and Scottish harbors and notes that shipping from
Queenstown to New York is 2,728 miles. Also locates submarine telegraph
lines, lighthouses and llightships. An inset chart in lower right shows
an enlargement of Dublin & Vicinity. Excellent map from C. S. Hammond's
“New World Atlas.” |

Paris. 1764. Colored. 9X6½. Very attractive map of Ireland depicts
the 4 Provinces of Ulster, Leinter, Connaught & Munster & shows the
harbor of Dublin on the east coast with Antrim, Londonderry & Belfast in
Northern Ireland. Depicts Galway Bay on the west coast with Limerick,
Waterford & Cork in the south. Includes 2 small sections of the coast of
Scotland & the coast of Wales & the St. George's Channel dividing
Ireland from Great Britain. In lower right the map has a very decorative
title cartouche ornamented with leaf, flower & scroll motifs. Engraved
under the direction of Jacques Nicolas Bellin (1703-1772) the Royal
Hydrographer to the King in Paris, the map was included in Bellin's
“Petit Atlas Maritime” in 1764. |

Provinces of Ulster, Leinster, Munster & Connaught along with hundreds
of names of cities, towns, villages & harbors. Depicts Belfast, Antrim &
Londonderry in Northern Ireland, & Dublin, Milford Haven, Waterford &
Cork on the east & southeast coast with Galway Bay & Connaught on the
west coast. Locates the St. George's Channel off Ireland's east coast
dividing Ireland from Great Britain. Engraved under the direction of
Rigobert Bonne (1727-1795) the Director of the Depot de la Marine in
Paris, the map was published in “Atlas Encylopidique” in Paris in 1787
with the cooperation of Nicolas Demarest. |

London. 1793. Colored. 20X16¼. Finely engraved & detailed map shows
Ireland's 4 Provinces of Leinster, Ulster, Connaught & Munster, along
with counties, cities, towns & harbors. Depicts Dublin Harbor on the
east coast, Belfast on Carrickfergus Bay in the northeast, Galway Bay on
the west coast & Cork & Kinsale Harbors in the south. Locates bays,
inlets & rivers around the coastal regions, with lakes, hills, mountains
& roads leading to & from major centers, inland. The map was engraved by
John Cary (1754-1835) one of England's most able & prolific 18th century
engravers & publishers and issued in “Cary's New & Correct English
Atlas” in 1793. A fine map. |
