Colored. 9½X15. From the French Edition of John Marshall's 'Life of Washington". Finely engraved chart shows the Delaware River from Newcastle to Trenton & beyond, with block plan of Philadelphia. Locates Wilmington, Delaware, Elk Head, Maryland; the Schuylkill River to Pottsgrove, Frankfort, Burlington, & Princeton, New Jersey & the Raritan River from its entrance at Sandy Hook near Englishtown & Freehold. Many roads & rivers cross the State & the chart shows the positions of the American & British forces, particularly the American General Irvine's position along the Delaware below Trenton in 1776. (Note: Samuel Lewis who drew the chart was Lord's Commissioner for Trade & chartmaker for General Washington during the Revolutionary War.)

Good coastal detail with islands located throughout the region.

The maps show street block plans, naming streets and lot owners & include public building, hotels, parks, railroads, rivers, lakes & shorefronts. Also locates the school, Presbyterian Church and cemetery. Surveyed by H. C. Woolman on a scale of 400 ft. per inch. A good plan well drawn.

Depicts railroads, canals, rivers, State Parks, bays and points from New York Harbor, south to Cape May and Delaware Bay. Locates the Ambrose Channel Light Vessel and the Scotland and North East End Lightships and includes a list of the railroads serving the State. Excellent detail. From C. S. Colored. 16X12½, (Two maps on one sheet.) 1.Cherry Hill and New Barbadoes in Midland Twp is now part of Hackensack, Rochelle Park and Maywood, below Oradell & River Edge. The map depicts Hackensack and the Old Hackensack Road, Grand Avenue and Fairmount and locates estates with names of property owners. Also locates the track of the New Jersey & New York Railroad and the Reservoir of the Hackensack Water Company. 2. Arcola is also in Midland Twp, which is on the border of Saddle River Twp and is currently Paramus. The map shows the Saddle River & private estates with names of property owners, wool mills and a store. Midland Township was in Bergen County, New Jersey in the late 19th century, and these two maps are interesting as they show the County before it's development in the early 20th century and how it has changed in the last 130 years. From The Atlas of Bergen County published in 1876.

Colored. 15X12¼. (A map and a view on one sheet.) At top of sheet is a street block plan of old Coytesville in Bergen County, New Jersey, situated on the Palisades just north of the George Washington Bridge and adjacent to Fort Lee. It is now part of Englewood Cliffs. Below the map is a finely engraved view of a large house in Rutherford on the banks of the Passaic River, in Bergen County. The scene depicts tree-lined streets with George Dayton's mansion on a corner, and horse drawn carriages located on the surrounding roads. A charming 19th century scene. Depicts Golden Hammock Channel, Quarter, Brigantine & Absecom Channels and the chart is dotted with depth soundings and indicates courses, bars, shoals, buoys and beacons. Includes navigational notes on tides and lighthouses. Very good condition.

Camden & Philadelphia & the Delaware River. Includes a list of 24 railroads as featured on the map. An attractive map with good detail.

The map depicts New Jersey's Cumberland County which borders on Delaware Bay. It locates Millville, Bridgeton, Cedarville, Newport, The Cohansey Creek & Greenwich & Maurice Cove. The map depicts cities, towns & harbors overall, with roads and railroad stations & shows tide & fresh marshes, pine & cedar swamps, cranberry bogs & reclaimed land, both cultivated & meadowland. The map is a Geological Survey & was published in the “Atlas of New Jersey” by Julius Bien & Co. Lithographers. It was based on Triangulations of the U. S. Coast & Geodetic Survey. (The map is cloth-backed. Condition is good with some light age-toning around outer margin edges & along centerfold not affecting image.)

Depicts cities, towns, roads & railroads, swamps, marshes, cranberry bogs, clay & marl pits & geodetic stations. The map covers a wide area & is intensely detailed. It is a Geological Survey & was published in “The Atlas of New Jersey” by Julius Bien & Co. New York Lithographers. It was based on Triangulations of the U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey. (Cloth backed with some light age-toning along centerfold not affecting image. Otherwise good condition.)

Locates roads & railroads, Woodstown, Swedesboro & many smaller towns & villages. Topographical details include forests, swamps, rivers, marshes, clay & marl pits & reclaimed lands. The map is based on surveys of the U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey, and was published in 1887 by Julius Bien & Co. for inclusion in “The Atlas of New Jersey.” The map is cloth backed with one center-fold & has some light age toning around outer margin edges. Otherwise condition is good.

Fine topographical survey shows the Delaware River & block plans of Burlington, Burlington Island & Bristol & includes Newbold's Island in the Delaware River. Depicts Northampton & many small towns, & villages, roads & railroads. Topographical details include forests, swamps, marshes, cranberry bogs, & rivers. The map was based on a U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey published in 1888 by Julius Bien & Co. for inclusion in “The Atlas of New Jersey.” Map is cloth backed & has one center fold & some light age-toning around outer marginal edges. Otherwise condition is good.

Colored. 9½X6”. Small but very detailed map shows the American & British encampments in Northern New Jersey and Westchester, on the New York side of the North River, later named the Hudson River. Depicts Fort Lee, New Jersey across the River from Fort Washington, where a boom was laid in the River to prevent vessels from sailing up to Tappan & Dobb's Ferry. The map shows all primary towns & villages from Trenton & Princeton, New Jersey to King's Bridge & Phillips on the New York shore & includes roads & rivers, and depicts Staten Island & New York Harbor with Manhattan Island, between the North & East Rivers. The map was engraved by Joseph Yeager (c.1792-1859) for the 1832 edition of John Marshall's “Life of Washington” originally published in 1804.

Very colorful map shows the New Jersey shore from Point Pleasant down to Barnegat Bay & ending at Little Egg Harbor. Depicts Barnegat Inlet, Tom's River, the Barnegat Post Office & the Friend's Meeting House, Gunning River, Bayville Post Office & inland locates Manchester & Bricksburg with roads & railroads leading to and from major centers. Includes Long Beach Island to Squan Beach along the outer shore of Barnegat Bay. This fine map was published in Beer's “State Atlas of New Jersey Based on State Geological Survey & From Additional Surveys.” Published by Beers, Comstock & Cline, Vesey Street, New York 1872. Very nice condition.

Fine map of the County shows the coast from Great Bay & Old & New Inlets down to Brigantine Inlet, Absecom Inlet & Great Egg Harbor. Depicts the Absecom Post Office & the Atlantic City Post Office, Bakersville, Pleasantville, Egg Harbor City, Clarktown & Mays Landing. Includes many small towns, roads, railroads, rivers, swamps, & hills & in top right is an inset map of the Northern Part of Atlantic County. The map was published in Beer's “State Atlas of New Jersey” in 1872, & includes 3 small inset maps on the back of 1.) Camden City, 2.) Atlantic City, & 3.) Mount Holly. A colorful map in good condition showing the County in the late 19th century.

Very detailed coastal chart shows street block plan of Cape May & depicts Sewell Point at the Harbor Entrance, with sand dunes & 2 Mile Beach. Shows Shellenger's Landing, Cape Island Creek, U.S. Highway 9, Cape May County Canal, Mill Creek, Skunk Sound, Lower, Middle & Upper Thoroughfare, Fish Wharf & Jarvis Sound. Chart includes detailed depth soundings, courses & navigational notes on buoys & beacons, tides & channel markers. This fine chart was taken from the Chartroom of the U.S.S. Inaugural, a World War II Minesweeper, built in 1944, &, after the War, became a Museum Ship on the St. Louis Missouri Waterfront & was sunk when the Mississippi River flooded in 1993. Chart is in fine condition.

Depicts Church, Mechanics & Hand Streets plus roads going to Dyers Creek and Goshen. The Cape May & Millville Rrailroad tracks are drawn on the west side of the town, which has 2 cemeteries & the Head of Crooked Creek called Thompson Run, flows across the Ludlam & Thomson properties. This excellent map was surveyed & published by Woolman & Rose for inclusion in their "Historical & Biographical Atlas of the New Jersey Coast" in 1879. Condition: Very good.
